Hello! My name is Maeve Secor. I am a PhD student co-mentored in Dr. Matt Dean’s lab in Molecular and Computational Biology at USC and Dr. Allison Shultz’s lab in the Ornithology department of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, providing an ideal situation with unique access to specimens and cutting-edge equipment and methodology.

My research interests include:

  • Evolutionary biology and conservation ecology
  • Comparative Genomics
  • Ornithology and avian biology
  • Effects of anthropogenic climate change on species

I enjoy writing (both scientifically and creatively) and being outside as much as possible.
